With reference to your Giroular Despatch of the

17th. January, 1917, regarding the establishment of an Imperial Trust for Scientific and Industrial Research, I have

the honour to trasmit a copy of a letter from the Hongkong

General Chamber of Commerce forwarding the views of the

Association of Exporters and Dealers of Hongkong from which

it will be seen that the Association desires to render every assistance possible in furtherance of the Imperial Trust's

Aims.

You will no doubt inform me what are the wishes

of the Committee with regard to sending samples of the pro-

-ducts enumerated in the list furnished by the Association of

Exporters and Dealers.
